Proximo Launches $1 Million Ad Campaign in Texas Highlighting Legislation to Deliver for Latino Veterans and Families

First ad, “Stood by Me,” highlights Rep. Vicente Gonzalez’s efforts to support veterans and strengthen veteran-owned small businesses through the Veterans Member Business Loan Act

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Proximo, a Latino-led 501(c)(4) nonprofit dedicated to empowering the Latino community with the knowledge and tools to shape what’s next for our democracy, today announced the launch of a $1 million TV and digital advertising campaign in Texas to educate Latino voters about key legislation in the U.S. House of Representatives and identify lawmakers championing legislation that impact their families and communities. The campaign will include English and Spanish ads highlighting how Rep. Vicente Gonzalez is fighting for legislation that matters greatly to Latino communities and will run in July and August.

The first ad of the campaign, “Stood by Me,” highlights and applauds the work of Rep. Vicente Gonzalez (TX-34) on legislation to support America’s veterans, including his leadership on H.R. 507, the Veterans Member Business Loan Act, which would help expand access to capital for veteran-owned small businesses.

The endorsed legislation addresses priorities important to Latino families, including affordable health care, economic opportunity, homeownership, support for veterans, protecting fundamental freedoms, and strengthening trust in government.

The first ad, “Stood by Me,” features a veteran sharing his experience with Rep. Vicente Gonzalez’s efforts in Congress to support those who have served, including his work to cut through bureaucratic barriers, improve care for veterans, and invest in veteran-owned businesses.

Gonzalez wrote the “Repatriate Our Patriots Act” to protect those who bravely served our country. And Gonzalez fought for more investment in veteran-owned small businesses.
