Proximo Endorses Six House Bills to Advance Opportunity, Affordability, and Accountability for the Latino Community
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Proximo, a Latino-led nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering the Latino community with the knowledge and tools to shape what's next for our democracy, today announced its endorsement of six bills in the U.S. House of Representatives that address issues central to Latino families and communities.
The endorsed legislation reflects Proximo's commitment to advancing policies that strengthen economic opportunity, expand access to affordable health care, support veterans, protect fundamental freedoms, and restore trust in government.
"Latino families care about the issues that impact their daily lives—whether they can afford a home, access quality health care, support the veterans in their families, or trust that their elected leaders are putting them first," said Proximo President Amy Strathdee. "As our community continues to grow in both size and influence, we deserve organizations that advocate for policies rooted in our values and focused on creating real opportunities. Proximo will continue working to educate, engage, and empower Latino voters while supporting policies that help our families thrive."
Proximo believes that educating Latinos about policy strengthens both the Latino community and American democracy. Through authentic, culturally relevant outreach, Proximo works to combat misinformation and inspire civic participation for a more prosperous and representative future.
Proximo is proud to endorse the following legislation:
H.R. 12 – Women's Health Protection Act of 2025
H.R. 247 – Health Care Affordability Act of 2025
H.R. 396 – TRUST in Congress Act
H.R. 507 – Veterans Member Business Loan Act
H.R. 4717 – First-Time Homebuyer Tax Credit Act of 2025
H.R. 4849 – Protecting Health Care and Lowering Costs Act of 2025
Collectively, these bills address many of the priorities that matter most to Latino families, including making health care more affordable, expanding pathways to homeownership, supporting veteran entrepreneurs, protecting access to health care, and increasing transparency and accountability in government.
